Blog #2: Studio Experience

My first couple studio experiences this semester were great! Getting some experience in all of the positions was really great and I learned a lot. Operating the cameras was one of my favorites because that is what I have always loved. I think the best part about it was just that it really felt like an actual studio and everyone was working together and getting what we needed to get done, done.

There were some areas where I saw that I could use improvement and also other areas that I wanted to learn more about. For instance, when I directed I felt like I wasn't getting the maximum number of shots that I could have got, which I can definitely work on. Also, running the sound board was awesome to me, but I don't have much knowledge about them and I would love to learn a lot more about them because sound has always been a big interest of mine. Being on camera was also an area in which I think I could improve, by bettering my stage presence.

Overall, the first couple experiences in the studio were great and I can't wait to start producing some awesome shows!

Blog Post #1: Syllabus

A syllabus becomes almost a routine when it comes to the first week of a new semester of classes. Most college students dread having to read through the syllabus and see all of the new assignments that you will be doing over the course of the next few months. However, this syllabus went into great detail about not only what we would be doing in this class, but what we would be learning. When going into a career in video, Studio Production is always something that you need to learn. What I personally am most excited about for this class is learning how to use all of the equipment besides just a camera. Learning how to run a light board or a sound board has always interested me just as much as operating a camera. I am also interested in working in teams and making everything work as time in the studio goes along. Getting the experience of working in a studio is very exciting to me for the upcoming semester!
